The day after Boxing Day...

How was everyone's Christmas? Mine was awesome, Calvin and I definitely got spoiled. My Mom got us a Kitchen Aid stand up mixer and a digital picture frame, I'm really excited to get using both of those things. I also got some gift cards to Ricki's, which I will use when I go down another size. I bought a few button down shirts at Ricki's Boxing Day sale - size 8 - and was oh so happy to find that they were too big! Yaaaay!

We've decided that we're going to start planning a trip to Jamaica (shown above) sometime in May. So, I'm going to start kicking my butt onto the bike/elliptical to hopefully try and lose 10-15 pounds by then...and tone, of course.

I don;t have much else to say - I'm going to try to post more when I'm back on the weight loss wagon :).

Who's ready for Christmas?

I am! I got tons of stuff done at work today, but I was soooo not in work mode.

Everybody is gearing down to go on holidays, including me - even though I only get a few days off; I'm ready. I'm trying to take as many appointments and make as many phone calls as I can, to compensate for the fact that most of next week is a write off. So far, so good.

I had an awesome weigh in this morning: 137.2! I'm not too concerned about the scale right now, other than trying not to gain the obligatory 5-10 pounds that everyone else seems to think you need to put on over the holidays. I was happy to see that I was down a bit from the lats time I weighed - my focus in the new year will be toning up. I think that getting on the elliptical and doing weights will make more of a difference than if I were to drop the last 10 by osmosis...

How's everyone else??? Hopefully avoiding all the treat baskets....

Not a bad trade...

I don't know how the rest of you get your housework done, but it's a real challenge for me. I was going to wash floors and clean some stuff up on Saturday night, but Calvin ended up not having to go to work, so I did nothing. So I sat here this morning, pondering whether or not I wanted to wash the floors - then my Mom called....

She's getting better with using her computer, but there's still a few things that she's not too sure about. Sooooo...she came over with some fancy paper and asked if I could help her write her Christmas letter if she washed my floors. Haha...no contest. I wrote the letter, no questions asked. I really need to come up with a system to make sure that the nitty gritty things get done every week.
I'm trying to upload some wedding pictures, but blogger won't let me, I'll try again later :).

I was spoiled...rotten

I had an awesome birthday. Calvin made me breakfast in bed before I went to work, which was accompanied by some birthday cards that he'd hidden from me over the last week. He also sent a dozen long stemmed roses to work; I can literally stop to smell the roses while I work now :).

I got some GC's & money to shop for new clothes, and a new outfit from my Mom (a size small sweater & size 8 pants.) I'm not shy anymore, I'll gladly tell anyone what size I'm wearing lol. Also got lots of Body Shop stuff & a "mini" bunt cake pan; I wanted that, but I'm not sure when I'll get to making mini bunt cakes.

I've decided that I'm taking steamed broccoli & cauliflower to the pot luck on Wednesday, it's easy and better than canned veggies. Hopefully my bank account is still alive by the end of the week; there are a bunch of things going on at work and they all require money (secret Santa, food hamper, Christmas gift for boss..etc) gotta love that eh?

My weight is holding steady, hopefully I'll be able to get back into exercise mode soon - I think that'll help me to feel better and get rid of a few more pounds.

Secret Santa & Pot Luck

Tuesday, December 4, 2007

As usual, I'm doing more reading than posting...but I actually have a reason to post tonight.

We're doing a Secret Santa at work, and our limit is $10. I want to be creative and get something neat for my mid-thirties gal...but I'm stuck for ideas. She's into healthy living and an organic diet; hmm.

We're having our usual Christmas dinner at work next week, I got signed up for vegetables. Would you be boring and take canned corn, would you do a casserole, or maybe a veggie tray? I don't want to spend a million dollars, but don't want to be too cheap either.

My birthday is on Tuesday, the big 2-2 lol...
