Feeling soooo Sad

I don't think I wrote on my blog when we got him, so I'll back-up a couple steps. We adopted the cutest little orange kitten at the beginning of February and named him Joey. We were told when we got him that there was a two week return policy of things didn't work out. Things were a little hairy for the first week or so - lots of hissing and growling coming from Rocky, but we figured he's chill out eventually. Of course, we gave it more than 2 weeks.

Well, 2 months later, Rocky and Joey were co-existing, though not always peacefully and my allergies were ever present. We really didn't want to have to find a new home for Joey, but thought it would be better for everyone if we did. I sent out an e-mail to everyone at work and within a couple of days, one of out cat loving managers came to me and asked if we still had him. She called me yesterday and asked if she and her husband could come and look at Joey; stupid - not-prepared-to-give-her-kitten-away ME thought she would just LOOK and then come back the next day to take him if she wanted him....to kind of give us a "cooling off period."

Well, she took him. Right then and there. She looked at him for about 15 minutes and then said to her husband, "Well, let's take him home." Now, I feel heartbroken and am wondering if we should have given it more time. He is the sweetest little cat and really balanced Rocky out. Hmm...We did give HER a 2 week return policy too, I wonder if the same goes for us?

Eeeek...

After having a completely traumatizing experience shopping for a bathing suit Monday night (Sears, Sport Check...) we decided to go for round two tonight. I had tried on a two piece halter & skirt combo that I was almost lukewarm about at Sears, but I just couldn't sell myself on it; especially for $110.00!

What I ended up getting was a halter top & shorts combo. The halter has a floral beachy design that's black, blue and white and the shorts are similar to biking shorts - just shorter - and are black. This bathing suit makes me feel so good, which means a lot in a bathing suit. It's definitely the right one for me because I LIKED myself in it, which is huge; not too many wobbly bits either.

I also got a pair of prescription sunglasses tonight - they're a really nice dark blue and they look hot. Maybe I'll take a picture or this whole ensemble when we're in Jamaica :).

That's my story for now - I think I'm good to go for Jamaica!

So, we decided to make a trip to Winners tonight, which I've never really liked, but thought we might find some different things there...

Low and behold, I found a really cute brown polo shirt and a pair of khaki green Calvin Klein walking shorts. The 2 pieces look really nice together and I'll be able to mix and match them with the other summer clothes that I recently bought; yay me. I LOVE the shorts, they go right to my knee and are actually really slimming.

AND...the best part.....

They're a size 4! This is my second or third size four, so I think I am now a solid 4/6. I like the sound of that, but my wallet is hating me for it at the moment. I would really like to tone up, but I think I may hold off on that for a couple of months, just to give my clothing budget a breather...
That's all for now, Happy Easter!

I'm baaaaack

From nowhere lol. I'm just not into the blogging these days; I still like to read everyone else's blog, but I just don't feel like I have anything to say sometimes.

We're going to Negril, Jamaica on the 6th of May for our honeymoon - we'll be gone for a week and are REALLY excited for it. Neither of us have been on a big vacation before, so we're looking forward to it. I've been buying t-shirts and capris every payday to wear while we're down there because nothing from last summer fits...yay...and nay lol. It's funny how you sometimes think that the size large shirt will still look "okay" after you lose 40 pounds; it doesn't even come close to looking okay.

So, I have 3 pairs of capris and probably a weeks worth of new, bright and cheery t-shirts from Ricki's; they definitely look like clothes that you'd wear in Jamaica. As for the scale, my last weigh in was 128.4. I've started eating more calories (milk and full fat yogurt etc...) because I can't afford to be buying new clothes every month when I go down a size. It boggles my mind how I can eat 1500-2000 calories a day and still lose weight..hmph.

I also bought some of that Bio-Oil stuff that Shoppers Drug Mart just started selling, it's supposed to be really good for new & old stretch marks (lets hope!!) and dry skin. It's not horribly overpriced either - $10.00 for a 2 ounce bottle. I'll keep you posted.

How is everyone??
