Deep Water Thursday

Thursday, August 30, 2007

Not much to say today....
I went to aquasize tonight; we did the deep water class, which was more fun and actually seemed to be more of a challenge than the shallow water one. I found out tonight that one of our facilities here offers an aqua-spin class, which I think would be A LOT of fun and a great workout. I would only be able to go on Mondays though because it runs from 1-2, so maybe I'll see if they'd give me a price break :).

I went a little off course with my eating for the first two days of the week - had a spicy chicken from Wendy's on Tuesday and a very fattening dessert with our dinner out last night. I shouldn't have bothered with the dessert, which was frozen banana cream pie by the way - but I only ate half of my dinner and refused birthday cake at work today. We seem to have so many birthdays lol......must refuse cake....

Hopefully I can redeem myself from my not so stellar choices early in the week...

On another note, my cleansing co-worker thinks she's going to kick my butt in the weight loss competition. She hasn't lost any weight thus far, so I'm not sure how she plans on doing that, but we'll see....I'm cautiously optimistic that I'll take the cake on this one - no pun intended ;).

Weigh In -2.0

Tuesday, August 28, 2007

Yaaaaay, more than a pound this week! This weigh in brings me to 146.8, 6.8 away from my wedding goal. I'm also 2 pounds closer to beating my co-workers, which is awesome :).

I called in sick today. I hardly ever call in sick, but I have a lovely tension headache and didn't think that sitting at work for 9 hours would make it any better. Hopefully I can rest today and be ready for aquasize again on Thursday night!

I'll also keep you posted on the shoe dilemma....

Update: Sterling has decided that they will exchange my shoes for me because, "at the end of the day, it's really no big deal."

That's what I thought, fank you very much...

Isn't the customer ALWAYS Right?

Monday, August 27, 2007

Apparently not.

I bought a pair of shoes for the wedding from Sterling Shoes at the end of June. I tried them on in the store, they seemed to fit alright, so I bought them. About a week later, I tried them on again at home and they just wouldn't stay on my feet; they would slip up every time I took a step and were just really uncomfortable.

We were in the midst of moving at the time, so I wasn't able to take them back until shortly after we moved; I'd had the shoes for about 3 weeks, no big deal, most places take things back within 30 days right? WRONG! Sterling's return policy is only 15 days, so when I tried to exchange the shoes, I was promptly told that there was nothing that could be done and that I should have read my receipt. Yes, I should have, but I'm human for crying out loud....

I left the store with these shoes, since I'm not one to cause a scene, and decided I would e-mail Sterling's customer service to try and get some help. I sent the first e-mail on the 8th of August and was told that my problem would be referred to the store manager for attention. 2 weeks went buy and I didn't hear anything, so I sent another e-mail...same thing. I really wanted to avoid going into the store and getting all huffed up, so I sent one more e-mail today and finally got a call back.

I was repeatedly told that I was way over 15 day time frame and that I should have tried to speak to the manager right off the bat because she likely would have exchanged the shoes for me. That's really fucking nice. The last thing you should do is tell a customer that "there's nothing that can be done" and that "you should have...."

We had a client at the bank a while back whose mortgage payments had been screwed up for TWENTY YEARS and we fixed the problem - I should think they should be able to help me out after 2 months, especially since I've been waiting for a response for one of those months. I'll likely never shop at Sterling again if they don't help me, the manager is supposed to call me tomorrow, so we'll see.

Jesus!

This picture was taken a couple of weekends (and pounds) ago, but I liked it a lot

Double NSV & SV

Saturday, August 25, 2007

For my non Weight Watching friends, NSV is a "non-scale victory" and an SV is a "scale victory."

SV

Shortly after rousing myself from our oh-so-comfy bed this morning, I decided to take a peek at the scale; it read 147.6! It feels so good to be that much further away from 150. I think 150 is my new 160, I don't ever want to see it again...unless I'm pregnant.

NSV #1

I got dressed up in one of my usual wanker-banker outfits that I wear all the time, only to find that I was swimming in the size 10 pants and shirt. I wore the outfit anyway, but decided to make a celebratory trip to Ricki's after work.

I got....

  • royal blue button up shirt - size 8
  • grey pin stripped suit - size 10 jacket and pants - last time I tried on the pants they were super tight and the jacket was a size 12 before
  • purple Lacy short sleeved shirt - medium

NSV #2

When I was measured for my wedding dress, my measurements were

38/32/42

Today they were

36/31/40.5

Not too happy that I'm losing my boobs, but I don't think I'll ever be flat chested, so no worries lol.

Short "good things" post

Wednesday, August 22, 2007

  • Aquasize starts tomorrow
  • It's payday
  • My body fat has gone down 7% since starting the work competition
  • Tomorrow is "thump" day
  • My wedding goal of 140 feels attainable today
  • The wobbly bits are slowly melting from my arms

Who's Pumpin' Iron?

Tuesday, August 21, 2007

Catty Kristen is :).

I've been doing "Get Ripped: Slim & Lean," with Jari Love - aka double zero skinny bitch. It takes about an hour to do and incorperates light weghts into the workout; it's tough and it really works your whole body. I'm hoping to see some results by the wedding, because I'm kind of feeling crappy about my body right now; even though I'm over 20 pounds lighter than I used to be, I still have nice silver-ish stretch marks to remind me of what I used to be and how I got there. I'm hoping I can tone my arms up enough that they might shrink a bit and not bug me so much.

My bridesmaid and I are starting aqua aerobics on Thursday night; she's 6 months pregnant and I have bad knees, so the water workout should be good for both of us. Hopefully I don't down too much saltwater lol.

I weighed in at home this morning because one of the girls at work is away on holidays. I was a little miffed that I was only down 0.4, but learned to accept my measly loss when TOM made an early appearance this afternoon - I feel pretty good about my 0.4 now - 148.8 it is. I'm hoping to drop a pound or so next week

P.S: I tried to post this last night but Blogger wouldn't let me :P
